What Are Mushrooms Good For?

The Apex Allies to Healing Your Body, Mind, Spirit and Planet

Have you ever wondered...

"What are mushrooms good for?

The answer may surprise you.

Mushrooms are not only delicious and versatile in the kitchen, but they also offer a myriad of benefits for your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being…and beyond the body!!!

From supporting your immune system to expanding your consciousness, mushrooms are truly nature's gift to humanity and to our planet and cosmos.

So, let's dig in and explore the incredible world of mushrooms together!

what are mushrooms good for

First and foremost...

Mushrooms are packed with essential nutrients that support your overall health.

They are:

  • low in calories
  • fat-free
  • cholesterol-free, and
  • gluten-free

...making them a fantastic addition to any diet.

Mushrooms are also rich in vitamins and minerals, including:

  • vitamin D
  • potassium
  • selenium, and
  • antioxidants

These nutrients work together to boost your immune system, promote healthy bones, and protect your cells from damage.

As a registered dietitian, I have yet to meet a food with a more impressive nutritional profile than the mighty mushroom!

So, if you're looking for a natural way to support your body's defenses, look no further than the humble fungi.

I think of the mycelium as the Earth's natural Internet, a consciousness with which we might be able to communicate. Through cross-species interfacing, we may one day exchange information with these sentient cellular networks. Because these externalized neurological nets sense any impression upon them, from footsteps to falling tree branches, they could relay enormous amounts of data regarding the movements of all organisms through the landscape.

Paul Stamets

But the benefits of mushrooms go far beyond physical health.

Did you know that certain mushrooms, such as lion's mane and cordyceps, have been used for centuries to enhance cognitive function and mental clarity?

Lion's mane, in particular, has been shown to stimulate the growth of new brain cells and improve memory, focus, and creativity

Cordyceps, on the other hand, is known for its energizing properties, helping you feel more alert and focused throughout the day…as well as in the bedroom!

So, if you're looking to sharpen your mind, body and boost your brainpower (and libido), consider incorporating these powerful mushrooms into your daily routine.

What are mushrooms good for? Healing beyond the body

In addition to their cognitive benefits, mushrooms also have a profound impact on your emotional well-being.

Reishi mushrooms, for example, are often called the "mushroom of immortality" due to their ability to:

  • promote relaxation
  • reduce stress, and
  • improve sleep quality

By calming the mind and balancing the emotions, reishi mushrooms can help you feel more centered, grounded, and at peace.

Similarly, chaga mushrooms are known for their mood-boosting properties, helping to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression.

So, if you're looking for a natural way to support your emotional health, mushrooms may be just what you need.

But the healing power of mushrooms extends far beyond the individual.

Did you know that there is evidence of a collective consciousness of healing, as demonstrated by the Global Consciousness Project?

This project has shown that when large groups of people focus their intentions on healing and positive change, it can have a measurable impact on the world around us.

I live in Colorado, the epicenter of the psychedelic movement. Everywhere I go, people are talking about microdosing mushrooms

And what better way to tap into this collective consciousness than through the power of mushrooms?

By incorporating mushrooms into your daily life, you are not only supporting your own health and well-being but also contributing to the healing of our planet and the cosmos as a whole.

Mushrooms are considered to be high-vibrational entities

A concept that has gained attention through the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, a renowned Japanese researcher.

Dr. Emoto's experiments involved exposing water to various stimuli, such as words, music, and images, and then freezing the water to observe the formation of crystals.

His findings suggested that water exposed to positive, high-vibrational influences, such as love, gratitude, and beautiful music, formed more intricate, symmetrical, and aesthetically pleasing crystals.

We do not 'come into' this world; we come out of it, as leaves from a tree. As the ocean 'waves,' the universe 'peoples.' Every individual is an expression of the whole realm of nature, a unique action of the total universe.

Alan Watts

Conversely, water exposed to negative, low-vibrational influences, such as hate or harsh words, produced distorted, asymmetrical, and less appealing crystals.

Given that mushrooms are composed of a high percentage of water, it is believed that they, too, respond positively to high vibrations.

This idea supports the notion that consuming mushrooms grown in a nurturing, positive environment can contribute to overall health and well-being, as the high vibrations may be imparted to the consumer, and ripple outwards to the environment.
